The golf world saw a lot of drama on the fourth and final day of the Horizon Irish Open at the K-Club-Ryder Course. The last round saw Vincent Norrman take home the win and a cut of the $6 million prize purse. But what’s more surprising is that the champ was able to do so by pushing past a highly talented field of professionals, including crowd favorites Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry.

Winning over such powerhouses in front of their own home crowd is nothing short of an amazing feat. And when asked about how he felt after the amazing win, the victor had a lot to say, leaving every golf enthusiast with nothing short of a sweet aftertaste!

The final day of the tournament saw a lot of surprises with the rise of the Swedish golfer as he propelled past the top players to take home the title and a winner’s cut of $1,019,531. The win came out to be especially special to the golfer, as he was able to beat Irish professionals Lowry and McIlroy in their own national Open.

In the press conference that took place after the event, the 25-year-old mentioned how cool it was to even compete against the duo, all the while conveying his exhilaration at the win. Continuing with his response, Norrman said, “To beat them is even cooler,” as he indicated how starstruck he was at seeing the duo play.

Following this, the Swedish golfer was quick to compliment the crowd when he was asked whether he enjoyed playing in front of them. The pro golfer went ahead to point out how they were “some of the best crowds” he has “ever seen on a golf course”, cheering for all the good stuff.

The golf world saw an emotional roller coaster of sorts on the final round as the 1X PGA Tour winner pulled off a spectacular performance to emerge victorious, leaving behind his Irish counterparts. Topping the lineup, including the Ryder Cup teammates, was nothing short of an amazing feat with the stellar showcase he put up.

The Swedish golfer was able to clinch his second win in his professional career as he climbed twenty places on the fourth day to lift the cup. He registered the best numbers in the final round of the tournament with a score of 65 (-7) to put up an overall score of 14-under 274. Moreover, his dazzling win came off without any bogies, all the while managing to score seven birdies.

Long finished second with a score of 275 (-13) and was unable to cement his place at T1 after an exciting three rounds in the tournament. Nevertheless, the victory for the champ becomes his second, with the first coming at the co-sanctioned PGA Tour European Tour event, the 2023 Barbasol Championship, where he finished with a total score of 22-under 266.
