Phil Mickelson recently received a lot of buzz in the media after he made some statements about the PGA Tour in an off-camera conversation with his biographer Alan Shipnuck. The player later accused Shipnuck of leaking sensitive and unauthorized information to the public after his statements went viral.

The writer was also physically removed from a recent press conference of Phil Mickelson. Shipnuck was trying to enter the room but was pushed out allegedly by the security guards.

The host of the show asked Shipnuck a valid question in the middle of the conversation. He asked the writer what he was expecting for himself after showing up at a LIV Golf Press Conference of Phil Mickelson, after being the person who put out all controversial quotes about the player. But Shipnuck took it as a chance to target Mickelson again.

Shipnuck started by saying that it is not right to not allow reporters to do their job. He suggested that Mickelson could have dodged his questions or even gotten back at him. But stopping a reporter from asking questions is wrong.

The author cum reporter continued to reason and said“Phil’s a Pro! He’s a master manipulator of the media. You saw that in his press conference at the U.S. Open yesterday.” Shipnuck added, “He can handle himself, he took a lot of tough questions and I thought he dealt with them pretty well yesterday.”

Shipnuck wanted to ask “boring golf stuff” to Mickelson

As per the conversation, Shipnuck was going to ask simple questions related to the sport, or as to say, “boring golf stuff”. But it was a risk from Mickelson’s perception, as it was not safe to let the same man ask questions who recently wrote all the bad things about him. However, the reporter was stopped from entering the conference area.

Phil Mickelson has received a lot of hate from golf fans as well as from his fellow golfers. He was one of the first golfers to join the Saudi-funded league. Later, lots of players from the PGA Tour left the former tour and joined the LIV Series. This has put the future of PGA and the sport in grave danger. Only time will tell what happens next.
