All You Need to Know About the Beautiful Vintage Car Sam Burns Won on the PGA Tour This Weekend

The 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge had an exciting end to the event on Sunday at the challenging Colonial Golf Course. In the end, Sam Burns kept his calm and won dramatically after the final round. He took home a fantastic ride, apart from winning a beautiful trophy and the traditional red blazer.

Burns won his second PGA Tour event of the 2022 season last week. Apart from taking home a paycheque worth a whopping $1,512 million, the traditional Colonial’s Lenord Trophy, and a Scottish royal tartan plaid jacket, the American professional also won an incredible automobile. Burns won the fully restored Trans AM Firebird from the 1979 highlights, which marks a momentous year in the history of the famous car manufacturing company.

After winning the event, the 2022 Charles Schwab challenge winner sat in the beautiful car and collected his jacket and elegant trophy. Not to forget, yesterday’s win was his fourth PGA Tour win in the last 13 months. The car seemed to be in immaculate condition and was maybe teal blue or had a grayish touch to its body color. At the same time, it had great white seat covers, made with a delicate touch.

The car is customized by Steve Strope and Pure Vision Design, who also built the Champions prize for the 2019 edition of the incredible event. Furthermore, the 1979 Schwab Firebird is made up of cutting-edge technology and caters to every need of the firm’s clients. It also features a General Motors Crate LS3 Small-Block V-8 engine, putting out 430hp and 425 LB/ FT of torque. 

The vintage car that the winner drove home includes Baer racing breaks with 13-inch rotors. At the same time, its interior features Porsche Panamera power seats, Dakota Digital Gauges, and a Kicker audio system. However, this is not the only time a winner of the event has got a car as the championship prize. Kevin Na, in 2019, won the fully renovated and customized 1979 Dodgers Challenger, and in 2021, Jason Kokrak won the 1946 Schwab Power Wagon as the championship prize.

Burns’ final round summary

The 25-year-old American professional emphatically won the Tour event yesterday. He ended the regulation play of 18 holes with an overall score of nine-under-par. As a result, he forced a playoff between himself and Scottie Scheffler. Moreover, Burns carded a final round of five-under-par, 65 to finish on the top of the leaderboard.

His final round of 65 included six birdies and one bogey on the back nine. As a result, Burns moved out in five-under-par, 30. He made one birdie and one bogey on the back nine before playing his epic two-men playoff. In the end, Scottie made a par on the first playoff hole. At the same time, Burns made a birdie to win the event.
