The golf star has made a unique name for himself in the sport and has made millions of fans over the years. And like all other famous golfers, Norman is also often surrounded by fans on and off the field. However, he once talked about his relationship with all the fame he has earned in his golfing career.
What does Greg Norman feel about being famous?

With over 91 professional tournament victories, Norman also holds the record of making 31 second-place finishes on the PGA Tour. And with so much success, the ex-professional golfer was bound to have countless fans. But unlike other celebrities, Norman wasn’t too excited to be around so many people who look up to him as an inspiration.
In a Q&A session with Jennifer Leach English, Norman came clean on his true perspective about being famous. “I’ve always been a reluctant celebrity,” he said. “I had to accept that if I became better and better at golf I would be in front of the public more.” In an era where so many people crave public attention, Norman was always one of a kind.
However, despite calling himself “reluctant” as a celebrity, Norman did not describe himself as “antisocial”. “Am I antisocial? No. But do I like my quiet time, walking on the beach,” he said. “For a long time, I was in the public eye, playing golf in front of 20,000 or 30,000 people four days a week and I was under a microscope. So you look for tranquility—a place to go to get away.”
What did Norman have to say about his controversies?
Norman has been in the headlines for the majority of time in his career. However, there have been several times when he was involved in false controversies as well. And in his opinion, people needed to avoid spreading ‘fake news’ about him.
