Amanda Balionis is now in her eighth year as a CBS reporter for the network’s golf and football coverage. In all these years, she has weathered plenty of fiascos, including multiple health setbacks. Just last month, she announced she needed a ‘Hail Mary’ while dealing with a pinched nerve in her neck, caused by a vertebra or disc issue at the C4/C5 level. Sounds like a nightmare? For most of us, yes. But for Balionis, though, something else feels like a nightmare.

In a recent Instagram story, the famed reporter’s answer to a simple “Sure do!” or “Nope” question for “Do you have recurring nightmares about work?” was rather interesting. She posted a picture of herself sipping on coffee and shared the horrible dream.

“A tradition unlike any other: every time I have a weekend off, I have a horrific work nightmare 😂. This one? I was covering an NFL game and completely forgot to prepare for one of the teams. Like knew 0 about them. Woke up in a full sweat. Happy Monday!”

Impossible to believe a seasoned reporter like Amanda would have such a nightmare. She always looks pretty confident when on the job, just like during the coverage of last month’s Baltimore Ravens vs. the Cleveland Browns.

On the other hand, sure, reporters and golfers rarely talk about such moments, but once Keegan Bradley gave us a glimpse into his type of nightmare. It’s work (golf) related, but still pretty hilarious.

Back in 2023, Bradley had a wild night’s sleep before the final round of the Travelers Championship. He dreamed of hitting shots out of bounds and woke up to a nightmare scenario: Justin Thomas storming back with a 10-under 60, shaving off 7 shots from Bradley’s lead. Interestingly, though, he won the event. So, not all was bad!

Nonetheless, Balionis has often been open about her work and personal life. Just last month, she shared several health updates, citing “Pinched nerve update” and “I’m stopping the heat therapy. Sticking to ice and Advil for her neck issue. That was around the time she covered the 2025 PURE Insurance Championship. Now, she is back on the job for another golf tournament, and fans would hope this one to be less “nightmarish” than her NFL days.

Amanda Balionis is back on the track for golf duties

This week, Amanda Balionis announced the 2025 Tito’s Shorties Classic is back in her schedule. Speaking of the same in an Instagram update, Skratch wrote, “The @titosvodka Shorties Classic is back this November! Hosted by @balionis. Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks for player announcements, ticket sales, and some other surprises! #ad

Even Balionis seems excited to participate in the event next month. While updating the fans about the event’s venue and schedule, she wrote on Instagram, “We are talking about the Tito’s Shorties Classic coming up in November. Mark your calendars for November 29th. One of my many favorite events of the year. First of all, it is in Austin, Texas. One of the greatest cities in the country. Second, it’s at Buttler Pitch & Putt. It’s one of the oldest courses in Austin.”

Yes, it’s true; it’s not a PGA Tour event. But yes, it’s also true that the fans will hope to catch a glimpse of the CBS reporter anyway. Now, for those who don’t know, the Tito’s Shorties Classic is a fun, charity golf event that’s all about short game skills. It’s a lively Skins game format, played over nine holes, and streamed on the Golf Channel. Past pros like Keith Mitchell, Harry Higgs, and Beau Hossler have participated.

On the other hand, this year, Balionis’s foundation, Puppies & Golf, will benefit from the event’s prize money. So, yes, there’s plenty to be excited about. And hopefully without Balionis fighting with some nightmares!
