Amid Chaos Between the Male Golfers, LPGA Tour Oozes Class With a Valuable Lesson by Rose Zhang and Her Competitor

Golf has always been considered a gentleman’s game. Ever since the rift between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf took place, things have been ugly to say the least.

And now the news of a billion dollar merger between the rival tours have caused unrest among golfers and fans alike. From Twitter to Instagram every social media platform is filled with people expressing dislike and disapproval of the announcement, questioning the sport authorities and their integrity and lust for money. In the middle of the ongoing vile accusations and discussions, female golfers Jennifer Kupcho and Rose Zhang, have reminded everyone about how golf is supposed to be played – sportingly and with grace.

Rose Zhang was the star player at Mizuho Americas Open and probably the breakout player of the year 2023. She gave tough competition to the other finalist Jennifer Kupcho and won the tournament by beating her at the second hole of the play-off.  Jennifer herself gave a commendable performance and took home the second prize of $259,395. But instead of beating herself about the loss she displayed a heart of gold. Taking to Instagram, Kupcho accepted her defeat with grace and extended her best wishes to Zhang upon winning the tournament.

Jennifer wrote in the caption – “It felt really good to be back in contention at the @mizuholpga and even though it didn’t end up being mine for the taking, I’m really proud of the resilience I showed. Big-time congrats to @rosezhang on an incredible debut and major accomplishment! It will be great to have you out on the @lpga_tour and I’m looking forward to many more battles to come. Huge thanks to @michellewiewest for hosting us at an awesome venue in @libertynationalgc – safe to say the bar was raised this week! Ready for an off week to regroup and prep for this next big stretch of golf coming up.

With this gesture, Kupcho showed great sportsmanship, teaching a lesson on how to face defeat with grace, indeed.

Rose Zhang’s sweet response to Jennifer Kupcho’s appreciation

The young golf prodigy returned the favor by replying to Jennifer and leaving a sweet comment. She wrote – “aww thank u so much Jennifer, you’re absolutely amazing🥰❤️”  Zhang gave an exceptional performance at Mizuho Americas Open and rightfully deserved this praise. Moreover, with this sweet exchange, both LGPA ladies have set an example that ought to be taken with sincerity.

In the LIV-PGA drama, accusations have been made, and heated comments exchanged on courses, in interviews, and on the internet. Multiple members of both Tours haven’t left any moment to point fingers and even play dirty if they have to. But those more experienced players could learn one thing or two from the new generation who are maintaining form and are showing how golf is supposed to be played : like a ‘gentleman’s sport.’
