The famous Saudi-backed league, LIV Golf, was included in the golf roster last year. Because of its inclusion, a lot of changes took place in the golf world as well. One of the vital alterations occurred when the PGA Tour guys defected to LIV Golf for a lucrative money deal. The player association was divided into halves, which quite naturally sparked rivalry as well.

Scottie Scheffler vs. Brooks Koepka: 2023 net worth comparison

Brooks Koepka is one of the most popular names on the men’s golf circuit. And the credit goes to his outstanding performance throughout the season. Because of this, he garnered the attention of Zach Johnson and got selected for the US Ryder Cup team, despite being a LIV golfer.

Now, alongside him, played a PGA Tour compatriot, Scottie Scheffler. The duo was seen during the Saturday foursomes on the Roman greens. Even though they played together, there’s a huge difference in their OWGR ranks. Scottie acquires the number one position, while Brooks stands at 18. Clearly, Brooksie is way behind. But does that reflect on his earnings as well?

According to a report by Forbes, Brooks Koepka’s estimated net worth is $72 million, of which LIV Golf provides the majority. Even while joining LIV, he reportedly defected for an amount of $100 million but only received a signing amount of $50 million beforehand. Scottie, on the other hand, who is one of the highest-paid athletes, has a net worth of $47.1 million.

Hence, it is clear from the statistics that the 33-year-old is richer than the world no. 1, even though there’s a vast difference in their OWGR ranks. Now, to bridge this gap, LIV has forwarded a plea to OWGR. Let’s take a look at what they claimed.

LIV golfers embark on their journey to an important decision

Last September, all the LIV golfers signed an open letter to OWGR, which said to include the league in the points system. And Peter Dawson, the chairman of the OWGR board, gave faint hope to LIV Golf that their request is under speculation.

But as a piece of recent news emerged, it read that their appeal was unanimously turned down, and to back the decision with a reason, the board stated that they don’t comply with LIV’s format and selection process, which is why LIV is not counted as an eligible golf tour. Even Peter Dawson stated the same in a letter to the CEO, Greg Norman.
