Celebrities usually justify the titles that they earn through their fame, or maybe the titles are usually apt for the stars as they are great choices. Whichever way you look at it, with every opportunity he gets, John Daly proves he is indeed a ‘bad boy’. His recent digital outing has created a sensation yet again.

Bad boy goes barefoot again, but not for a hole-in-one

The Ascension Charity Classic event is all set to begin this Thursday at the Norwood Hill Golf Club. John Daly is playing in the tournament, and during a break, he apparently engaged in some fun activity, which the PGA Tour Champions page on Instagram shared with his fans.

A few hours back, the page tagged John Daly in a video of theirs, showing Daly kicking a football. Daly went for a place-kick and sent the ball flying for a field goal. The bad boy was barefoot as he approached the ball with a quick and short run-up, and kicked it high and hard.

Daly enthusiastically shared the video on his story and captioned it playfully. He wrote “Lookin for a new shoe contract,” and followed it up with a series of three emojis. The first one was a wink, the second one was the sole of a foot, and the third emoji was a pair of shoes.

Daly’s fans enjoyed this move. They praised his athletic passion and the way he went barefoot with it. Some were concerned about his toenails and others were wondering how far the ball went. One fan concluded that the “dude’s just built different.”

Although Daly has been undergoing health issues of late, they haven’t really slowed him down. However, the bad boy has been actively attempting to engage his fans and admirers at regular intervals.

Daly just doesn’t slow down

John Daly has admitted to his drinking problem in public. Well, it was not like he was keeping it hidden and then confessed it later. Daly has always been open about his lifestyle. Coming to the drinking, it affected his health pretty hard. Besides, he has faced a cancer diagnosis, a knee replacement surgery, and then one more recent surgery as well.

Despite all of this, the man still plays in golf tournaments, endorses popular brands, and engages with his audience consistently. The bad boy is probably making up for having to cancel some commitments during the peak of his health struggles.

Notably, ahead of his latest surgery, he had to withdraw from the Senior PGA Championship. He sounded quite upset about the withdrawal and apologized to his fans. “Gutted to miss my fans & people of Rochester!” Daly wrote on his Twitter.

John Daly has been showing us what true athleticism is all about by pushing his body beyond imagination. What do you think of his enormous energy level?

For someone who has avidly followed sports even before I joined Essentially Sports, my transition to a golf writer has been immensely exciting. The sport has a certain calmness to it that attracts me. Much like every golf enthusiast. I, too, have many favorites in the golf world. Max Homa's humor makes me laugh, Rory McIlroy's intensity makes me curious, while Celine Boutier's awkwardness helps me relate more to these athletes and the sport, and Nelly Korda's smile just always mesmerizes me! Hence, diving in depth into all their lives and more is more than a joyous experience.
