Tiger Woods has been missing from live action and fans are patiently waiting for him to return. His injury has temporarily put the brakes on his career but that doesn’t stop the fans from missing the adrenaline-pumping reaction that he generates among fans.

And while they wait for him to grab his club and start swinging on the course once again, fans were given a treat by a PGA Tour player who gave a subtle tribute to Woods who will be missing in the Ryder Cup this year.

English Golfer to wear Tiger Woods-inspired sneakers at Ryder Cup

Being an elite golfer, Tiger Woods often has tributes paid to him. A few days ago Nike came up with a revival of the decade-old TW ‘13, which is the first-ever Tiger Woods retro golf shoe. It was first launched in February in white and the color choice didn’t sit well with people. Hence Nike put a spin on it and is releasing them in black.

The price for them at the time was $240. Ten years ago, Woods was in search of a good golfing sneaker that gave him the feeling and performance of the Nike Free runners that he used to train with. He collaborated with the Nike team and Tobie Hatfield. After some research, they came up with TW’13. This year Woods might be missing the event in Rome but English golfer Tommy Fleetwood who will be playing for the Europe side, will be wearing custom Nike TW ‘13s for The Ryder Cup.

The shoe does come with its share of attractive features as well. For the base of the shoes, a free sole is used that provides more contact with the ground through its many flexion points. The upper portion is a flexible synthetic material, which Nike also uses in other shoes. A dynamic Fit system with nylon straps is also provided to maintain stability. Its six soft spikes are made to grip the fairways, and it comes with Woods’s signature logo which hits the tongues, insoles, and heels in the classic Sunday red.

Fans show happiness over the sneakers.

After Nuclr golf shared the news on their Twitter handle, fans expressed their excitement for this tribute.

Fleetwood would be wearing white color shoes that look sleek. One fan called them Super dope.

Another used went with a different way of appreciating the pair of shoes.

While one fan used the fire emoji to emote how cool they look.
