Amidst His Ongoing Battle With Cancer, 56-Year-Old John Daly Makes an Important Announcement: ‘Stay Strong and Support This Guy’

With John Daly, everything is the same: the flashy jeans, the blazing yellow blouse, the long, flowing hair that is now gray. Moreover, his strong forearms and powerful backswing are still there. Yet, as our eyes take him in, we cannot help but recall the troubling news that surfaced a few years ago about the golfer. Despite his captivating appearance, it is obvious that Long John has changed.
Daly has been battling cancer for almost two years now. But, not once has he led this life-changing event to change him or stop him. Moreover, he took some steps to give back to society by starting his foundation called the Heart of a Lion. And, today he has an important message for all of us.

The golf great was featured in an Instagram video recently where he asked everyone to come out and support Foundation 33 at the Allan Open. “Everybody out there, stay strong and support this guy at 33”.

The money raised from the Allan Open will be used to raise awareness about suicide, and help those who have suffered from the aftermath of it. The post read, “Y’all listen to this man! Moreover, Daly believes in the beauty of life, and he wants people to support the organization to help them in their cause . “Let’s keep people from committing suicide.”
Furthermore, he believes that given his cancer, he would have died by now, but he is still fighting. And he wants people to help suicide victims do the same.

Daly had to change himself to fight the disease
When the legend received his bladder cancer diagnosis, he knew that he had to make some major lifestyle changes. This meant saying goodbye to his favorite foods, which had been causing the stones that led to his cancer and drastically reducing his intake of Diet Coke.
Although Daly had several unhealthy eating habits, he was relieved that he never developed a liking for energy drinks. Despite his efforts to quit smoking, he was caught lighting up a few cigarettes in 2020. But he reassured everyone that it was a slow process and that his doctor had given him the green light.

Moreover, John competed in Sanford International shortly after his cancer surgery in 2020. He found that playing golf was a great way to take his mind off the pain and stress he was experiencing. Who knew that a game of golf could provide such a powerful distraction and bring so much joy to Daly’s life?
