Tiger Woods’ feud with Sergio Garcia

Tiger Woods doesn’t have many friends in the golf community. The golfer has always loved hanging out with successful and inspirational players. But some players have had a problem with the golf legend. And one of them is definitely Sergio Garcia.

There has been heat between Woods and Garcia since the time they were grouped at the 2013 Players Championship. The two made it to the headlines several times after exchanging some statements. But what exactly happened between the two?

Garcia was in the second hole at the tournament and hit his shot right into the woods 275 yards out. And to everyone’s surprise, he decided to blame Tiger Woods for his stroke. According to Garcia, right before he hit his shot, Woods took out a 5-wood from his bag, and got loud cheers from the audience, distracting Garcia’s aim. He was very frustrated at his partner and said that Woods should have been careful about when to act.

To such an accusation, Woods didn’t keep quiet. “Obviously, he doesn’t know all the facts,” Woods said. According to him, he had already pulled out and hit the 5-wood, and Garcia didn’t have enough knowledge about the matter. The exchange of these passive-aggressive statements didn’t stop even after the rounds.

John Daly entered the picture to calm Woods and Garcia

The two players didn’t seem to stop with their statements until John Daly decided to intervene through social media. Promoting the spirit of peace and unity was nothing new for Daly, and he tried to do a similar thing during the feud between Woods and Garcia.

Daly tweeted“Tiger and Sergio I respect both of you and your golf so much plz end this y’all are so good for golf”. Although there was no official reaction to his tweet from either of the players, the two soon ended their feud.

Daly has always been a person who would choose peace over rivalry. After LIV Golf came into existence, Daly suggested that the PGA Tour and LIV Golf should work together. But due to the ongoing controversies, there seem no chances of a merger between the two leagues.
