Bryson DeChambeau is widely known for the scientific techniques that he uses in his game, for which he earned his nickname, ‘the scientist’. But that is not the only thing he is known for. Apart from his physique, personality, and techniques, he is also infamous for his anger issues. He has been caught on camera losing his cool multiple times, and every time he has suffered public scrutiny and backlash.

The incident from 2020 adequately exemplifies his anger bouts. The eight times PGA Tour winner lost his cool and golf fans were quick to jump in with their reactions. They called him names and tried to make him realize the importance of keeping his cool during matches.
Bryson DeChambeau and his anger burst got caught on camera
During the Rocket Mortgage Classic Tournament in 2020, DeChambeau was on the path of winning until something unexpected happened. He was in the middle of his third round when he snapped at the cameraman and chaos followed.

He shot 5-under 67 in the third round of the tournament. Although his round started at a slow pace and things completely went south as there was no improvements, even after a sand shot from a greenside bunker on No. 7. DeChambeau was reaching his edge and then he eventually lost it.

The LIV Golf player got angry and threw his club into the sand. Right after the club hit the ground, he immediately made a bogey. A cameraman was following him continuously and closely. Irritated, he lashed out at the cameraman, ‘Sir, what is the need to watch me that long?’
Golf fans’ burst out at DeChambeau following the incident
Even though he called his reaction ‘dumb’, the damage was already done and fans had a clear image of DeChambeau’s reaction in their mind. The back lash landed on Bryson’s patriotic Twitter post regarding a 4th of July wish, and it was heavy.
His behavior with the cameraman disappointed fans, and they thought DeChambeau should’ve showed him some compassion owing to the fact that he earned 2% of what the golfer was earning. Many people suggested him to stay off steroids as they might be contributing to his anger issues.
One fan called him a disgrace and said, “And then to read your comments afterward even after you had time to think about what happened, and what you said is an absolute disgrace.” Bryson’s actions landed him in the bad books of the fans and that led to the creation of Bryson’s apparently hostile image.
