Campbell shares an interesting story about Tiger Woods

Micheal Campbell emerged on the scenes at the 2005 US Open. The professional from New Zealand beat none other than Tiger Woods to become the 2005 US Open champion. Campbell defeated Woods by two stories at the Pinehurst Country Club.

Micheal ended the tournament with an overall score of even-par, with a final round of 69. Well, what a feeling to beat arguably one of the greatest golfing professionals of all time.

Surprisingly, Campbell told a story relating to Woods after Micheal won the 2005 US Open. Tiger has missed a few puts down the stretch and lost the event. Both the players met in the locker room after the event. And Woods showed how great a sportsman he is. Campbell spoke about Tiger’s gesture in the locker room.

He said, “I was washing my hands and face in the locker room at Pinehurst, only minutes after holing the winning putt in the 2005 U.S. Open. I thought I was alone. Seconds later, Tiger appeared beside me.

He added, “Nothing was said as we both stood there in front of a big mirror. Then he walked away without a word. But then he came back seconds later, tapped me on the shoulder, shook my hand, and said, “Well done.”. Mr. T is a true gentleman.

Woods’s final round at the 2005 US Open

Mr. T carded a final round 69, one under par at the 2005 US Open. As a result, finished in the second position. Tiger ended the tournament with an overall score of two over-par. His last round included three bogeys and two birdies in the front nine. And four birdies and two bogeys in the back nine.
