For the past year, Munoz has been struggling with a back problem that has prohibited him from playing his best game. He’s currently 90th in the world rankings, but the Columbian has certainly caught the eye with his performances.
The man from Bogota made history last year by becoming the first player on the US circuit to record multiple rounds of 60 or lower in the same season. His amazing show at the President’s Cup was overwhelming, where he took down reigning Masters champion and then world No. 1, Scottie Scheffler, in the singles matchup.

Wow #90! A guy with 2 missed cuts and 36, 40, 41, and 56 place finishes this season, leaving the PGA Tour? Yeah, a tremendous loss for the PGA!🤣 The guy with 1 win at the prestigious 2019 Sanderson Farms Championship! Greg Norman is really flexing his muscle with this one!

Why did Munoz choose LIV over the PGA Tour?
While he hasn’t made a statement on his decision yet, Munoz is a self-proclaimed Phil Mickelson fan. The 30-year-old has time and again revealed his admiration for the 6-time major championship winner, and has claimed to copy his instincts in dire situations.
“When I won on the PGA Tour, I asked myself ‘what would Phil do in this circumstance, how would he take on this shot?’” Munoz once said. “I always ask myself that. Phil is my inspiration.”
