Many in the golf world have eagerly awaited LIV Golf’s return. Ever since its emergence last year, the breakaway tour has gone on to amass quite a few fans. The viewers seem to enjoy the modern style of golf that the series has introduced them to. But fans still face one major dilemma when it comes to the Saudi-backed league. Both Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau went onto social media to help the fans find the answer, but they ended up starting a war.
Phil Mickelson rallies the troops around him
The League of Defectors recently released a promotional video announcing its different teams and captains for this season. The entire video revolves around one question, which is LIV fans’ biggest problem: “Why should I support your team?” And with his perfect left-handed drive, the 6-time major winner thinks that there is only one correct answer among the 12 different teams.

Sharing the video on Twitter, Lefty wrote, “The answer is obvious” and tagged his team, the HY Flyers. Similar to last year, Mickelson once again heads the Hy Flyers. Last year, they were knocked out in the first round of the quarterfinals during the team championship, so he will undoubtedly be looking for redemption.

Bryson DeChambeau doesn’t back away from Mickelson’s challenge
While Mickelson may be the biggest star in the Saudi-backed series, that doesn’t mean the rest are ready to give up just yet – the captain of the Crushers, DeChambeau, is one of them. He too took to Twitter and wrote, “The answer is simple.” Well, it’s not so simple anymore, Bryson!

Last year, the long-distance driver’s Crushers had made it further than the HY Flyers. But they too were unable to go further. They were knocked out during the second round of the semi-finals. On his team, ‘the Scientist’ had Paul Casey, Charles Howell III, and Anirban Lahiri. And who knows what changes will be made this year? Regardless, DeChambeau will be looking for a win this year.
