After the Mizuhos Americas Open, New Jersey is ready to host the LPGA stars again, but this time for the KPMG PGA Championship. The women’s golf major is about to kick off in just a couple of days, and golf enthusiasts cannot be more excited. Some of the biggest names on the LPGA Tour, such as Brooke Henderson, Danielle Kang, and emerging LPGA sensation Rose Zhang, will compete for the pride and honor that come along with the highly coveted title.

Amongst the highly decorated female golfers, will fans get to witness the Thailand LPGA sister duo, Ariya Jutanugarn, and Moriya Jutanugarn, prevail over their magic at Baltusrol Lower Course in Springfield, New Jersey? Let’s find out!

Will Ariya Jutanugarn and Moriya Jutanugarn tee it up at the 2023 KPMG PGA Championship?

Ariya Jutanugarn has been having a good year so far. She was last seen competing at the Meijer LPGA Classic tournament, where she finished in T5. The official field of the forthcoming thrilling women’s major championship was announced some days ago, and the two-time major champion’s name was there on the list.

The 27-year-old golfer has won two majors in her professional career: the 2016 Women’s British Open and the 2018 US Women’s Open. Owing to her previous two major victories, the younger member of the Jutanugarn sister duo was able to qualify for the 2023 KPMG LPGA Classic. All the major winners from the previous five years are eligible to compete for the prestigious title.

The elder sister of the duo, Moriya Jutanugarn, was also in the 132-player field. According to the LPGA Tour’s official site, the older Jutanugarn was able to qualify for the thrilling major championship with her CME Globe points. The Race to the CME Globe is a season-long points competition on the LPGA Tour in which golfers accumulate points in every official LPGA tournament to gain entry into the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.

The PGA Championship is the second-longest-running tournament on the LPGA Tour. The first-ever inaugural championship was held in 1955 at Orchard Ridge Country Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The KPMG PGA Championship now offers one of the highest purses to LPGA golfers. This championship is not just about the golf tournament but also about empowering a new generation of females. Along with the major championship, a women’s leadership summit is also organized, along with a charitable initiative. The charitable initiative is known as the KPMG Future Leaders Programme, which mainly focuses on the development, advancement, and empowerment of women on and off the golf course.
