‘Arnold Palmer of Ladies Golf’ – Bubba Watson Salutes Legendary LPGA Icon

Bubba Watson is everywhere at the Solheim Cup. He not only showed up to support women’s golf but is also guiding them throughout the tournament. Watson joined Team USA at the Inverness Golf Club in Ohio as a helper, giving advice and motivating fans to show their support. 

And this was a genuine interest and significant time commitment. Meanwhile, Watson arrived at the venue on Monday and celebrated his 17th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. He was also involved with everyone and advised them a few things during their practice rounds. 

Moreover, Bubba Watson created massive hype for the Solheim Cup through his social media accounts. And recently, he posted a picture on his Twitter with the GOAT of women’s golf.

Bubba Watson meets Nancy Lopez at the 2021 Solheim Cup

Bubba Watson posted an image with the legendary women’s golfer, Nancy Lopez. Moreover, he added a caption that said, “The Arnold Palmer of Ladies golf.”

Nancy Lopez was one of the best golfers in the late 1970s. She won 48 LPGA Tour events and three major championships. There were seasons where she won more tournaments than many do in their entire career. And hence she is regarded as one of the best players on the LPGA Tour.

Meanwhile, Nancy Lopez replied to the tweet thanking Bubba for supporting women’s golf. And concluded by saying, “It has been great walking with you and your wife Angie!!!”

Moreover, Bubba has always shown his support to women’s golf. However, this time, he decided to set an example by showing up at the Solheim Cup. “If I just tell everybody that we need to help ladies sports, or ladies golf, you can’t do it unless you go see for yourself,” said Watson. “You don’t know where the impact can be made.”

And since then, he has been active on social media posting about his experience at the Solheim Cup. Moreover, he has been successful in attracting a few eyeballs to this event.
