On Monday, Atlanta Drive GC took to Instagram to finally post a picture of the complete squad. Tiger and McIlroy’s TGL will see American Ryder Cup players Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay, along with PGA Tour title winners Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover. The said golfers will be playing together as one team.

Each of these golfers will bring something different to the table. Even though JT has been facing a major season slump, his return to the greens at the tech-savvy League may change the course of his pro career. Bringing two major titles to the greens, the player will be joined by his American mate Patrick Cantlay—whose addition to the team is a little bit of a hard pill to swallow.

Cantlay has been on a break since the 2023 Ryder Cup in September, and him now returning to the greens has his fans hopeful to see him in action again. The player has been in good form this season—as justified by his highlight 18th hole play at Rome. With his 8 PGA Tour wins, the player seems all set for the showdown.

Joining the squad, Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover, with their bag full of pro golfing tourneys and major wins, have been at the top of their game lately. Where Glover recently scored a win at the Wyndham Championship, and FedEx St. Jude Championship, Horschel has also been on a parabolic up trend.

Where these additions have already made headlines, Cantlay’s addition to TGL has been a shocker for many. The player is currently on bad terms with McIlroy and so, fans are wondering about the secrets behind his involvement.

The tensions and reconciliation between Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay

Recently, in an interview, Rory McIlroy confessed to his issues with Patrick Cantlay. It is known that the two players and Cantlay’s caddie Joe LaCava had an open fallout on the greens at Rome in September. After the Saturday play, LaCava had interrupted McIlroy’s game after Cantlay shot his winning putt on the final hole. Because the golfer did not get involved, McIlroy was left stranded with disappointment.
