The $3 billion merger signed between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour has been entangled in huge controversy since its signing. Even to date, it is unraveling bit by bit. First, we saw that after the signing of the merger, LIV players were allowed to qualify for the US team of the Ryder Cup. But the DP World Tour couldn’t avail the same for the European team.

LIV loyalist, Cameron Smith is all ready to make a comeback

Cameron Smith is one of the most popular LIV names and comes up no sooner LIV is a part of the discussion. The recent credit for his fame also goes to his two wins in the LIV golf events this year- LIV Golf London and LIV Golf Bedminster at Trump National. These events even led him to win plenty of cash this year. 

Hence, this year, after the signing of the merger, people are at least trying to normalize LIV Golf as a league, while last year the picture was adverse and people were highly critical of welcoming the Saudi-funded league and even censured the players who betrayed their former tour and defected to the PIF-backed league.

Now, one of the LIV defectors who was seen as a traitor in the LIV-PGA fiasco was Cameron Smith as well. He was going through a plight at that point in time, even the players were put under huge fines by the DP World Tour. And this Aussie was no exception to that. But a recent Twitter post of his suggests that he will make a possible comeback on the DP World Tour.

Cameron Smith’s soul-stirring stance on being back on Australian soil

Cameron Smith will finally make appearances in DP World Tour and PGA Tour-sanctioned events. And after all the ordeals of the last year, this news comes as a fresh start. Thus, on the occasion of that, Smith made a generous confession of his heartfelt feelings about his comeback. 

In an interview, he said, “I’m coming back home to play some golf. I loved coming back down to Australia just to hang out, but to play golf in front of the fans is something that I love doing and I’m happy that I’m coming back home.”
