Thompson opens up about controversial LIV Golf query

Thompson is widely known for being brutally honest with her opinions and statements during her interviews. In fact, other than her unfathomable golfing abilities, the LPGA Tour star has a separate fanbase for her rather raw press conferences. And a similar thing happened recently when the American pro was asked about something that has been in the news for quite some time.

During a recent Q&A session with the USA Today Network, Thompson spoke about a lot of things, including her golfing bond with former POTUS Donald Trump. She was talking about how the man has been a great supporter of women’s golf. However, the conversation led from one topic to another until she was asked about her opinion on a potential “women’s LIV tour”. And here’s what she said:

“There hasn’t been any talks about it. I’m focusing on the tournaments I can play in this year. Not much we can do about it. We’ll continue to play our butts off. There’s still enough going on in the golf world and see how far we can take our tour.”

Several other players, including Nelly Korda and her sister, Jessica Korda, have talked about the matter in the past. But everyone has had a rather unsure response about it. However, none of them, not even Thompson, denied their interest in LIV Golf’s expected women’s circuit.

What is Lexi Thompson currently up to?

The golf pro is currently in Florida for the Aramco Team Series and is pretty excited about it. “I’m overall just looking forward to the week,” she claimed. “The Aramco Team Series events are such great events, to begin with, and I have a lot of support out there coming from Friday.”

Not to forget that Thompson won the tournament last year in New York, and is back to defend her title once again at the $1000000 event.
