As Tampon Controversy Still Looms Over, Tiger Woods Confesses His True Feeling for ‘Little Brother’ Justin Thomas

Unexpected friendships are the best kinds of friendships, and when they evolve into a sacred brotherhood, it becomes a bond that lasts for a lifetime. Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas both live near each other in Florida. Their journey started when the former unofficially became Thomas’s mentor. In a recent PGA Tour video posted on YouTube, the legacy of the 5 times Masters winner was depicted in the most heartwarming way, wherein he also was also seen talking about his friendship with Thomas. 

The brotherhood between Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas

Woods got his PGA Tour card back in 1996, and Thomas became part of the Tour in 2013. Woods gradually became Thomas’ unsaid mentor, and the two grew closer together.

It is unusual for two competitors who face off against each other on the field to maintain such a close friendship. Although, they were always adversaries on the green as there are no team events in the PGA Tour, their friendship has endured that competition.

Commenting on his relationship with Thomas, Woods said, “They’ll come over the house and we’ll go in the backyard and we’ll chip and punt or we’ll just come, hang out, have dinner.” The golf Hall of Famer also said that Thomas is like a younger brother to him and it makes Woods happy to ensure that he is good to go. “He’s become like my little younger brother. And I will do anything for him, always make sure that he’s good to go.”

This is not the first time when Woods has called Justin Thomas his brother. He has also previously mentioned that the two are extremely close and they do a lot of things together. Even their families are close to each other. The two also push each other to be better on the green and give their best. 

The tampon controversy that looms over Woods and Thomas

A while back, Tiger Woods landed himself into a massive controversy when he handed over a tampon to Justin Thomas at the Genesis Invitational, meant as a ‘joke.’ The 15-time major champion received a lot of backlash for the it. He was called sexist and immature,  and the incident caused a lot of uproar on social media, with women welfare organizations calling him out for the gesture even though he himself has a daughter. Woods then apologized for his prank, and emphasized that he did not mean to hurt anyone’s feelings.
