Nelly Korda is all set to tee up at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions this weekend. While her sole focus would be starting the year on a winning note, a part of her will be veered towards the Australian Open down under. Indeed, her brother, Sebastian Korda, is participating in tennis’ first grand slam and had a key contest against one of the favorites.

What happened in Sebastian Korda’s Australian Open game?

Now that the game is over, Nelly can wake up in peace. Her brother, 22-year-old Sebastian, provided the upset of the night as he marched to victory against the Russian ace and former world no.1 Daniil Medvedev.

Son of former Czech great and 1998 Australian Open winner Petr Korda, Sebastian rallied against one of the favorites for the tournament to secure a 7-6, 6-3, 7-6 win. The engrossing contest puts an end to Medvedev’s hopes of adding another grand slam title to his 2021 U.S. Open. On the other hand, Korda’s next stop in the fourth round will be against Polish pro Hubert Hurkacz.
