Greg Norman has always been the first person whenever it comes to revolutionizing sports. With his LIV Golf initiative taking the golf world by storm, the golf legend was accompanied by tennis champion, Novak Djokovic, four years ago. Both Djokovic and Norman teamed up with SoftBank Ventures Korea to invest in the future of sports technology. The partnership aimed to identify and invest in cutting-edge technologies. Another key area of focus for the partnership was the development of sustainable technologies for sports. These promised to help reduce the carbon footprint of sports events and facilities.

According to an article by Forbes, the latest round of financing in 2018 brought the total amount raised by Playsight to $21 million. The plan was to eventually use the funds to continue its expansion into new sports. Norman and Verizon Ventures announced that they had teamed up to invest $11 million in the company. Other prominent investors in the company included tennis stars like Novak Djokovic, Billie Jean King and Pete Sampras.

The vision of Playsight was to build a technological platform that is massively consumed by everyone. Since, the future of sports lies in technology. All the matters were to be resolved using video and connectivity solutions. The company was planning to exactly offer that in the near future: an innovative business model for all customers.
