Mardy Fish’s remarks on the treatment he has received from the golf community

During his recent appearance on the podcast, Golf, Mostly, Fish was asked about how he got into golf. He said that he was always into three sports; tennis, golf, and baseball. As a child, his mom would tie a ball with a string to the ceiling and he would hit the ball with a golf club or a baseball bat. He then continued to inform that he has a dominant right hand and a dominant left leg.

He then continued and said that he would have been a right-handed golfer because it “would be a lot easier to get clubs, which is frustrating.” He mentioned that left-handed players are not treated very well in golf. “We’re not treated very well. We’re very underappreciated. As people and humans.”

He then shared an anecdote from his visit to LA Golf Studios that made him feel utterly disrespected. “We walked in, we’re at the LA golf studios and we walked in and they don’t have any lefty putters. I mean, the disrespect is just, I mean, it’s incredible.”
