Known for hosting a really strong field of players, the tournament gets its name from five-time major champion Byron Nelson. Notably, fans are extremely excited to find out about the biggest names on the field this year. And how much is the total purse for the 2023 rendition of the event?

Power rankings and defending champion

As a non-elevated event, the AT&T Byron Nelson has a pretty decent field this year. Fans will be able to catch six of the top 30 golfers in the world rankings at the event: Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Tom Kim, Tyrrell Hatton, Hideki Matsuyama, and Tom Hoge. However, the fans are definitely going to have a soft corner for Scheffler and Spieth considering they are both Texans. And that also makes it a bigger motivation for both of them to try their best to win.

However, all these players will be facing a tough fight against K.H. Lee, who has been winning the title for the last two years. Not to forget, Lee is also responsible for keeping the Korean win streak alive following Sung Kang’s 2019 victory. It will be interesting to see if he’ll be able to maintain his winning spree despite the presence of such great players.
