This week, both the LPGA and the PGA Tours had their respective tournaments. While the Women’s tour is hosting Buick LPGA Shanghai where the women of golf have assembled, the men’s league is hosting Shriners Children’s Open where Lexi Thompson got the opportunity to make her debut through her sponsor’s exemptions.

Unfortunately, she had to go through the exit door after she missed the cut on Friday. Despite the unfortunate ordeal, her friend Lilia Vu is proud of her. Vu is performing in the Buick Shanghai where during the presser she was asked about Lexi playing on the PGA Tour. Vu responded delightfully, ” Yeah, my gosh, Lexi is a tremendous person. She’s super nice and I wanted her to do well so badly. I would wake up and kind of like see, refresh PGA TOUR to see how she was doing. She says I saw a highlight reel of her driving the green on one of the par-4s. Yeah, that’s some pretty big stuff.” Vu said beaming with pride over Lexi.

Lilia used Lexi as an example to show the growth of women’s golf. She said “She did not even come close to the bottom of the pile. Really shows how much the women’s games are comparable to the men’s. She was playing the men’s tees, not only that, and just keeping up with them. So it was really cool to see. I’m really proud of her.
