Technology has seemed to take over everything, even sports! Golf has become of the recent sports to be influenced by technology, and most of the credit goes to PGA Tour loyalists, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Golf has always been an outside sport, but thanks to these great golfers, the thrilling league will be played indoors now, starting January 2024.
For the upcoming new-format league, fans seem to be more than excited. But will this have any impact on the excitement they have for the traditional format? Amid all of it, fans seem to be comparing the two formats; let us take a look at that!

How is Tiger Woods’ upcoming TGL, different?
The new league is being introduced in collaboration with the PGA Tour. In contrast to the traditional tournaments on the Tour, TGL will be played in a team format. There will be a total of 6 teams, and each of the teams will have three players who play on the PGA Tour. The players of all the teams will compete in an 18-hole format, one-on-one every Monday night.
In the traditional format, the time limit for every round is pretty long, whereas, in the new format, the match every Monday night will last for just 2 hours. The players will compete from January to April in the first season which will comprise of a total of 15 matches.
The league will be played in a technologically upgraded area situated in Florida, measuring 135,000 square feet. There are a few confirmed names other than the founders that will be seen competing in the new league; they include Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele, and Max Homa. Golf Digest posted a picture on their social media, asking fans which one of the format they count an ace? A simulator ace or a par 3 course ace. The post ignited a conversation comparing the two formats.

Numerous fans took part in the discussion. Some felt that the original and traditional format was better, whereas some seemed to think that the new format might just be better.
One fan raised a very crucial question about the follow-up question that one might have against the ace in a par3 course:
you count the par 3. but when someone asks if you've ever had a hole in one you have to follow it up with "**but it was at a par 3 course"
