However, there was a time when he was in the headlines for different reasons. And it was when his sister opened up about his broken marriage with tennis star, Chris Evert.

Greg Norman’s sister accused Chris Evert of being controlling

Norman might be a successful businessman today, but he has had a pretty rough past when it comes to his personal life. The golf legend divorced his wife of 25 years and got married to tennis professional, Chris Evert, hoping for a great future with her. But things didn’t work out according to his plans. The two got separated after merely 15 months of marriage.

The world had various perspectives on the situation. Even Norman’s ex-wife, Laura Andrassy, gave her views about Evert and the whole scenario. But there was one person who shared a completely unexpected side of the story about the two. And it was none other than Norman’s own sister, Janis Norman, who said it was all doomed from the beginning.

“She became very dominating and controlling and it became very apparent she was treating my brother badly,” she said in her interview with the Australian New Idea magazine. “We all saw it, including his friends.”

According to Miss Norman, Evert was not comfortable with Greg Norman having a bigger name in the sports industry than her. “We all agreed that she did not like the fact that Greg had a higher profile and that she was now taking a back seat,” she added.

Did Evert prevent Greg Norman from buying his dream property?

Miss Norman continued to speak about the matter and gave details about an event when the tennis star came between Norman and his much-awaited decision to buy a property. According to her, Evert stopped Norman from buying a property in Queensland for personal reasons. “She hated it here, especially in Queensland,” Miss Norman said. “Greg was so keen to buy a property. She did everything to discourage him buying anything…”
