Max Homa and his team, Jupiter Links Golf Club, didn’t exactly get off to a flying start in the TGL series. They suffered a crushing 12-1 defeat at the hands of Los Angeles Golf Club in their debut match on January 14. The match started with a draw on the first hole, but Los Angeles soon took the lead by winning three back-to-back holes. Jupiter Links managed to win only one hole, the sixth, but ultimately couldn’t keep up with Los Angeles’ momentum.

But Max Homa isn’t one to get too down about a loss. He took to Instagram to poke fun at his team’s performance, saying they might not have won the game, but they definitely won the vibes. When ESPN TV posted a story on Instagram saying, “Repping the best team in the @tgl golf.” Homa hilariously replied by reposting the post and wrote, “Best is the wrong word but we did play!”

Despite the loss, Homa seems to be taking it all in stride. He’s excited to be a part of the TGL series and is looking forward to the next match. In their debut match, Jupiter Links struggled in the singles format, with Tiger Woods losing to Justin Rose on the 13th hole and Max Homa tying with Sahith Theegala on the 12th hole before losing on the 15th. Collin Morikawa also got the better of Kevin Kisner on the 11th and 14th holes. But Homa is hopeful that his team will bounce back stronger in their next match.

Max Homa Reflects on TGL Debut, “We brought the most laughs”

Max Homa took to Instagram to share his thoughts on Jupiter Links Golf Club’s debut match in the TGL, which ended in a 12-1 loss to Los Angeles Golf Club. Despite the disappointing result, Homa’s post was filled with humor and positivity. He shared pictures with his teammates, including Tiger Woods and Kevin Kisner, as well as one with his wife, Lacey. Along with the snaps, he wrote, “We got beat so bad they may kick us out the league but we definitely brought the most laughs”, which was one of the best moments of TGL. Homa’s lighthearted approach to the loss is enough proof of his good sportsmanship and ability to find humor in tough situations.

During the press conference, Homa also opened up about the team’s performance and said,  “We had them on the ropes a few times and Kev got a wind switch on that one par-3. I hit a rock that just came out of nowhere. Tiger couldn’t seem to drop it in the rough and give himself a lie. I feel like we just got unlucky. I feel like if we get some better bounces next time, I think we’ve got a pretty good chance.” Despite the loss, Homa remains optimistic about his team’s chances in future matches. With their positive attitude and commitment to having fun, Jupiter Links Golf Club is sure to be a team to watch in the TGL.
