Zach Johnson had revealed his six picks a week ago, and now on Monday, Luke Donald also disclosed his six gems in the squad of twelve.

Shane Lowry is a popular name in the men’s golf circuit. However, lately the golfer has been in a drought with no wins this season. Additionally, there were a few missed cuts, even in a major- the Open Championship. Hence, his chances for the Ryder Cup Europe Team were also dwindling. 

However, on September 4, Luke Donald disclosed the names of his six captain’s picks, and in that group, one name was Shane Lowry as well. Now, there were some fans and pundits who showed their dismay at the captain’s choice of selecting a teammate who was out of form.

As a result of the backlash against his selection, Lowry shared a message for his haters. He said,I’m not going to sit here and disagree with Luke Donald. It was his decision at the end of the day, if he thinks that somebody else is better for this team. He emphasized the fact that he was in agreement with the captain’s decision and was quite content.

In addition to this, he also said,I’m very confident in my own ability, and I know what I can bring. My form probably has not been the greatest, but in some of the bigger events I’ve played some of my best golf and there’s nothing bigger than the Ryder Cup. Thus, he makes a pledge to reincarnate his best form at the Ryder Cup, the most prestigious tournament worldwide.

Rory McIlroy takes a ruthless jab at the LIV Golfers 

Rory McIlroy stood out as the biggest critic of all time for the Saudi-funded league, LIV Golf. With no mercy in his heart, he keeps taking out his disgust on these players. Recently, he did something similar to a few players like Sergio Gracia and Ian Poulter, whose patriotic dreams are dead this year.
