It’s not just golfers who love to bide their time at the greens. From time to time, alligators will also be spotted chilling on the golf courses. This time, however, one person captured a massive gator lounging by the water with a golf ball atop his head.

Fans lose their minds over huge alligator on the golf course

Alligators have made their way to the greens for as long as golf courses have existed. It is because most courses have a water hazard (or a type of water body). On Sunday, @ziregolf shared a photo of one giant gator, looking adorable with a golf ball on its head. In the photo clicked by @kylerichardsongolf, the creature appears very calm and relaxed as it stares into the horizon.

Fans lost their minds after the alligator went viral on Instagram. “What a silly hat he’s wearing,” wrote one referring to the little golf ball. “Who was the brave man that placed that ball Tarzan??,” said another.

Chubbs Peterson will take it from here..,” wrote one golf fan, referring to the famous Adam Sandler starrer, Happy Gilmore. In the film, Chubbs Peterson was the name of the golf coach who retired from the sport after an alligator bit off his hand. “If Chubbs Peterson taught us anything, it’s just take a free drop.

This is why I don’t play in Florida,” read one comment. Golf courses are infamous for gator sightings, as these intimidating creatures often tend to come out of the water bodies and prance around on the field.

The alligator visuals also caught the attention of European Ryder Cup captain and former World No. 1 golfer Luke Donald. “Big fella saved it from going in the water,” he wrote. The 45-year-old golfer is currently gearing up for the upcoming edition of Ryder Cup, making a big revelation about the event recently.

With the Ryder Cup tournament set to kick off in September this year, fans are still speculating about whether big names that defected to LIV last year will be making an appearance. Recently, European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald also made a huge revelation about his brother who caddies at the Saudi-backed league.

The golfer’s brother, Christian, has been on the bag for golfer Brendan Steele in several LIV events. “No feelings, really. For someone who is 51 and has two kids under four, it’s a great opportunity for him. He’s going to know his schedule, he’s going to have guaranteed money, he’s going to travel less and be around his family. In terms of that, it’s a bonus. You go where your player goes,” the 5-time PGA Tour winner had told Golfweek about his brother caddying at Greg Norman’s league.

It seems like caddies are not subject to the same restrictions that are imposed upon LIV pros. Per Donald, his brother will play “some sort of role” during the event.
