Rory McIlroy applauded Jon Rahm’s strategic LIV Golf move

McIlroy, who has always ripped apart LIV Golf, recently had a change of heart. He referred to Rahm’s departure as a “smart business move” and said that he had no problem with him going if that was what he wanted. After his comments about rewriting the Ryder Cup rules, he once again talked in favor of playing in the Ryder Cup.

The post was shared by NUCLR GOLF on Twitter, and it gave insights into the Irish golfer’s thoughts. He said, “There’s not one person that wouldn’t want him on our Ryder Cup team because of how good he is, so he was in a great position where there wasn’t a ton of risk involved for him to go.”

The seasoned golfer believes Rahm is in a “lucky position,” as the current rules require players to be members of the DP World Tour. The Spinarad has not resigned from the DP World Tour after joining LIV Golf like other LIV Golfers.

The post garnered a lot of attention on social media, and to say that it lit a fire amongst the fans is an understatement. The 4x Major winner’s remarks have sparked a lot of debate in the golf community.
