Before golfers move to the season-ending Tour Championship, they will face another hurdle in the form of the BMW Championship 2021. The Top 30 in the FedExCup standings after this event, will move on to the season-ending Tour Championship. The event is being held at the Caves Valley Golf Club after decades, players looking to secure a win at the scenic course in Baltimore.

With the best of the world competing, the event at Caves promises an exciting leaderboard till the end. Jon Rahm – also in contention this year – won last season at the Olympia Fields Country Club North Course. He beat Dustin Johnson in a playoff hole to do so.

The event was introduced in 2007, previously called the Western Open. Before the Caves, it was played at the Conway Farms Golf Club in Illinois a few times.

Winner’s payout at the BMW Championship 2021

As per reports, this year’s BMW Championship will be giving out a prize of $9.5 million, with the winner earning $1.7 million. Another major perk is the FedExCup points, the winner earning 2000 along with 72 World Golf Ranking points. A two and more PGA Tour exemption, 2022 Masters, and PGA Championship berths will also be a part of the winning package.
