Tiger Woods made a giant leap in an attempt to play at the 2022 Masters on Sunday. The 15-time major championship winner arrived at Augusta National for a practice session in the afternoon. Moreover, Augusta National recently came out with a detailed report regarding the results of Woods’ quick enactment ahead of the major championship event.

Tiger Woods has a productive Sunday

Eldrick Woods arrived at the golf course at 3:20 PM along with his caddie Joe LaCava and Rob McNamara, his good friend. After a short session at the range, Woods and Joe drove in a buggy towards the 10th tee after nearly 20 minutes.

Woods hit some pretty amazing and crisp iron shots, especially on the par 3 12th, par 4 17th, and the par 4 18th hole. He even made a few birdies. The five-time Masters winner even gave his short game a go with some pitch and chip shots to get the feel around the tricky greens at the golf course.

The golf legend hit a dozen shots left of the 10th green and almost the same number of shots right of the 11th green. He spent a long time reading the 15th hole, where Tiger hit a long fairway metal for his approach shot. Billy Horschel, who saw Woods hit a few shots, estimated that he was hitting his driver about 290 yards.

However, Woods missed the green on holes 10 and 11 but he managed to play the 12th hole nicely. Tiger even reached the 13th hole in two shots. However, his approach shot on the 14th hole came a bit short, and as a result, the ball rolled 45 yards back into the fairway. He spent a reasonable amount of time putting on the 14th green.

The 82-time PGA Tour winner joined the Aussie professional Cameron Davis in the closing stretch. He hit his tee shot into the bunker on the par 3 16th.

Moreover, he hit a second shot from the tee on the hole and stuck the ball to about a foot and a half. As a result, hitting the only second shot in his nine-hole practice round. Woods’ training round came to an end at 6:07 PM. After which, he headed to the putting green with his caddie.

When did Woods win his first Masters title?

The 15-time major championship winner won his first Masters in 1997. Moreover, Woods won the event with an overall score of 18-under-par. As a result, he won with a whopping margin of 12 strokes. His 12 strokes margin victory in 1997 is the highest margin victory at Masters ever. Woods carded a final round of three-under-par, 69 to win his maiden green jacket.
