Just hours ago, Brooks Koepka became the only four-time LIV Golf winner at the Sentosa Golf Club! The 34-year-old took the lead after the second round and refused to let either of the Aussies, Marc Leishman or Cameron Smith, take away his LIV Golf Singapore silverware. On Friday, the LIV star was downplaying his chances of winning as he struggled with his putter. That certainly wasn’t the case, though, with him having shot four birdies and only a single bogey in the final round.

The victory is undoubtedly a confidence booster for Koepka, who in just a few days will head to the Valhalla Golf Club to try and defend his PGA Championship title. However, neither that nor his fourth win made this event special. That credit goes entirely to his son, for this was the American pro’s first win in front of his newborn, Crew, who was on the course this week!

Koepka became a father in August 2023. However, his journey to fatherhood was filled with difficulties. And last year in October, on the BS with Jake Paul podcast, the 34-year-old revealed exactly that. “I didn’t feel like a real dad,” said Koepka, talking about the rough few initial weeks because he could not bond with Crew since the baby was born a few weeks premature and had to spend most of his time in the NICU.

However, that was just a phase, and he soon got the hang of it and now loves being a dad every single day! And then this week, things kicked up a notch at LIV Golf Singapore, when Koepka found his first win with Crew and Jena Sims on the course. His last victory came at the 2023 LIV Golf Orlando, when Sims was pregnant.

So, how did it feel to finally have Crew and Sims inside the ropes, seeing him win? It’s awesome. It’s such a cool feeling. It’s great to have them here,” said the father and husband. The 4-time LIV Golf winner even expressed disappointment over his past performances, in which he was consistently outside the top 40, but was now relieved that Crew could see him win as well. “At least he got to see me do something a little better than that,” he said, talking about his previous finishes.Koepka hugged and kissed his wife and son, who were waiting for his victory on the sidelines in Smash colors, after his final par putt.

Now, the 5-time major champion and the only 4-time LIV Golf winner will head to Valhalla to try and grab his 6th major win. Defending titles isn’t for the faint of heart, but Koepka has done it twice before and wants to do it one more time.

Koepka hopes to win the PGA Championship for the fourth time

After winning his first major in 2017 at the U.S. Open, it took Koepka a good twelve months to get his second. But he eventually did it at the 2018 PGA Championship, and surprisingly, he successfully defended at Pinehurst No. 2 to get his third major silverware right after. It was a good year for Koepka, and just like that, in 2019 too, the 34-year-old defended his title… this time in Valhalla.

BK now undoubtedly hopes he can maintain his hot-streak and once more defend the PGA Championship, making it his fourth. “I like the way things are trending,” he said talking about his hopes for later this month at Valhalla.

His preparation plans, surprisingly, include only resting and doing “the right stuff.”  Whether that will be enough, however, only time will tell. Regardless, one thing is certain: The 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla is bound to be a thrilling week!
