Brooks Koepka was three strokes clear of the cut line at The Masters with just two holes remaining in his second round. At this stage, if anyone had told you that Koepka would miss the cut following the second round, you would’ve chuckled in their faces. But that’s exactly what happened. Not for the first time in his career, Koepka squandered an advantage at Augusta. Two years ago, Koepka entered the final round with a two-shot lead, but Jon Rahm rallied to overtake him and ultimately won by four strokes. On this occasion, Koepka had an alarming collapse, one that left him out of the weekend in three of his last five Masters.

He was under pressure after a bogey at the par-4 17th. Still, a birdie at 18 would ensure Koepka played the weekend, but he just couldn’t get it right, not even once and was understandably bummed about it. He didn’t talk to the media after missing the cut, and has also not released any statement on social media yet, but his wife, Jena Sims, came to the rescue as she is ready to heal the wounds Augusta gave her husband.

The latest Instagram post by Sims had pictures of her and their son Crew on the course, having a fun time with his parents. Having Crew on the course for the first major of the season was special for Sims and Koepka, thanks to a thoughtful gift from the Smoking Flamingo apparel company, which sent designer baby clothes for his trip to Augusta. Sims was visibly moved to tears by the gesture, proudly showcasing the adorable outfits on her Instagram. Meanwhile, Crew’s already showing signs of following his dad’s footsteps, playfully swinging a plastic golf club in their garden.

Despite health challenges after being born six weeks premature, including a stint in the NICU and congenital torticollis, Crew’s personality shines through, and he was there to cheer his father. “We always have your back 😘💚”, Sims captioned the latest post, making it loud and clear that they are there for Koepka in this difficult time.

On the 18th, Koepka pulled his tee shot left into the trees and was forced to take an unplayable. His re-tee landed on the left side of the fairway. He reached pin high with his fourth shot but left himself short-sided to the back-left hole location. His chip left him 12 feet for double bogey, but he missed that putt and the four-footer coming back, carding a quadruple bogey eight and missing his first major cut since 2022.

This also means the green jacket remains out of reach for Koepka, a glaring gap in the resume of the most decorated major champion of his era. A Masters title continues to slip through his fingers, year after year.

“Oh my god, the warmest welcome ever,” Jena Sims gushed. Sims shared a glimpse of her hotel bedroom, decorated with Masters-themed touches, including a customized cushion with the tournament’s logo.

She even got gifts from the brand, Krispy Kreme, a white cup, a cap with a Masters theme, and a personalized sticker of Koepka with his club. Well, this isn’t the first time Koepka has made it evident how much his wife matters to him.
