Brooks Koepka has been getting some attention since the PGA Championship. And no, it’s not the kind any golfer wants. The five-time major champion has been the talk of the town for his disastrous finish at the recent major, the PGA Championship. You see, he missed the cut at Quail Hollow after carding 75 & 76. Shockingly, this was his worst performance at the PGA Championship, considering he is one of the few players to have won this major thrice in his career. While trying to shift his mental state from the discouraging round, Koepka also got involved in a heated exchange with a heckler who yelled, “That’s what happens when you take guaranteed money.” But that’s the game of golf; finding ways to bounce back is key. And that’s what Koepka is doing.
In a recent Instagram update from his beautiful wife, Jena Sims, we can see that the couple is on a much-needed getaway. Dressed in matching black and white attire, Jena captioned her story, “If you look closely, Brooks and I are matching,” as the duo took photos on a scenic beachfront. Before this getaway, Brooks was spotted by a local golfer at a Charlotte-area Quik-Trip picking up a pack of beers after missing the cut on Friday. Koepka’s game might not be as good as it was, but his life at home is blissful.
The couple, who welcomed their first child, son Crew, in July 2023, are often seen posting actively on social media about their tropical getaways and time off from the golfing world. Sims and Koepka love the beach so much that they even got married on an island, Turks and Caicos, and even celebrated their first wedding anniversary at the same venue. Koepka and Sims posted a similar getaway update after the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla, including pictures of their time together.

Koepka’s move to LIV Golf has been a double-edged sword. After his victory at the 2023 PGA Championship, he was ranked within the top 15 in the OWGR. But in 2025, his rankings had dropped to 384. While fans and critics have their takes, even fellow tour pros are becoming critical of the major champion. English tour pro Eddie Pepperell says it’s a “shame” to see Koepka not performing. Pepperell, in the latest edition of The Chipping Forecast, feels that “Brooks is a curious player” and has “never been somebody to perform at his best other than major championships.”

While every sport has its ups and downs, it is crucial for players to surround themselves with people who can help them stay motivated and optimistic about what’s to come. While Jena Sims is often seen supporting Brooks Koepka on the greens, he leaves no stone unturned to reciprocate.
The Strength of Jena and Brooks’ Partnership
We have often seen Koepka acknowledging Jena’s calming presence, which has helped him stay grounded and confident on the golf course. She has also been present at almost all his major victories to cheer him on, except the 2023 PGA Championship. But the support from Koepka’s end also never falls short. She also has her own nonprofit organization, Pageant of Hope, that works for the cause of helping children with cancer and disabilities. While she juggles between this and being a new mom, Koepka ensures that he celebrates her every step of the way.

What’s your perspective on:
Is Koepka's personal bliss overshadowing his professional struggles, or is it his secret weapon for a comeback?
Have an interesting take?
From actively promoting her modeling campaigns to praising her love and support for him in interviews and social media, he is constantly seen treating her with respect and importance. He’s shown up at her events, shared her milestones, and supported her ambitions, even when they don’t overlap with his spotlight. Even though Brooks is a reserved and private person, he does not shy away from posting about his beautiful wife and her achievements on social media – reposting one of Jena’s swimsuit campaigns — “Proud of you, Jena.”
It is evident that their relationship is going strong because of the mutual respect, encouragement, and support they constantly have for each other. They are both independent and shine in their own right, but never hesitate to cheer for each other when it’s time to do so.
