When one of the best golfers in the world takes on a random guy from a golf course, you’d expect the pro to win easily. But MrBeast’s latest challenge flipped that script completely. The video featured the 2x major champion Bryson DeChambeau taking on an amateur named Johnny. Johnny was randomly selected to play a challenge with Tesla on the line.

The setup included the classic MrBeast Chaos and a huge prize on the line. If Johnny hit the vehicle, he could keep it. And if it was Bryson who did it first, it would go to one of his biggest fans. So, all that the participants had to do was hit a Tesla parked between a water body, and DeChambeau lost the challenge. But there was a catch.

To make things fair for Johnny, he got three swings for every one of Bryson’s. He also got to swing first. Both Bryson and Johnny wished each other “good luck”, and that’s how the competition began.

The amateur took the first shot, and although he wasn’t a seasoned pro, his initial few shots came very close to hitting the Tesla. It sparked excitement and disbelief from everyone watching. “That might actually hit it!” shouted Bryson on the MrBeast video, along with some crew members.

However, as time passed, the distinction between a professional and an amateur became increasingly apparent. With every swing, Johnny’s aim seemed to go further off track. On the other hand, Bryson continued to approach the vehicle. In fact, his shots landed on the dock on which Tesla was parked. After missing the first shot by a few yards, his 2nd and 3rd swings landed right on the dock. The 3rd one was so close that the 9x PGA Tour winner shouted, “Whoa! That is crazy,” while throwing his club. After landing the 6th swing on the dock as well, Bryson said, “This is rigged. Completely rigged.”

Bryson is known for his precision and control of the golf ball. His signature single-plane swing keeps the club moving along one consistent path. It reduces unnecessary motion and helps him strike the ball cleanly and predictably.

At the 2023 LIV Golf event at The Greenbrier, Bryson made headlines by shooting a record-breaking 58 in the final round. He achieved a feat that demanded near-perfect accuracy on every swing. Then Bryson won the US Open 2024, his second major title, with a clutch up-and-down shot from a bunker on the 72nd hole to stay ahead by one stroke. His ability to control the ball in a high-pressure situation showcased his precision.

Ultimately, it looked like Johnny was tired and struggling, as he hit 3 shots for every one of Bryson’s. Considering the situation, MrBeast asked Johnny if he wanted someone to continue the challenge for him. Chandler was standing right next to MrBeast. When MrBeast looked at him, he said, “I can do it in five tries right now.” However, it didn’t take him that long.

For his first shot, one of the crew members sitting inside the Tesla distracted him by honking right when he was about to take a swing. And when he hit the second shot, his draw hit the back of the Tesla, and he won the challenge for Johnny. As soon as the shot hit the vehicle, Chandler took Johnny and dived straight into the lake. When coming out of the lake, he said, “Oh!! I did it! I’m better than Bryson DeChambeau!”

Bryson DeChambeau’s appearance in MrBeast’s video is more than just a fun crossover. It’s part of his growing shift toward digital and entertainment-based golf content.

Bryson DeChambeau’s rise as a golf-entertainment influencer

Over the past few years, Bryson DeChambeau has transformed from pure athlete into a hybrid of competitor and content creator. His videos are raw, unscripted challenges like “Break 50” rounds. He is seen testing cheap clubs or playing with celebrities like Tom Brady and John Daly. That approach helps humanize him for fans who don’t usually follow tournament golf. In fact, he said that “YouTube golf has made me feel like a kid again” at Augusta National.

Ironically, it all started with MrBeast in the picture as well. MrBeast has over 444 million subscribers, more than any other YouTuber, and one of them is Bryson DeChambeau. During the 2024 Masters, Bryson said, “You look at what Mr. Beast has done, and there’s a few other super famous people right now — Jynxzi and Sketch — and they are growing their avenues and their aspects, and it’s cool to see the cross-platforming capabilities. Like these individuals coming and playing golf and seeing how much influence they have is really cool. It’s just another avenue.”

His own YouTube channel has experienced significant growth, particularly following his dramatic US Open win. Currently, his channel has 234 videos with over 2.46 million subscribers. He posts videos playing golf with other professional golfers and even celebrities like Adam Sandler, Kevin Hart, Tom Brady, and Donald Trump.
