Bryson DeChambeau is a former PGA Tour player who won eight events on the Tour. The 28-year-old recently joined the LIV Golf Invitational Series. DeChambeau also won a major championship, the 2020 U.S. Open, when he was on the PGA Tour.

The golfer recently lost his PGA membership due to the guidelines in Jay Monahan’s statement regarding the transitioning players. The statement mentioned that the memberships of all players shifting to the LIV Tour will be immediately suspended, along with all other benefits.

Everyone looks at the LIV Tour as a rival of the PGA Tour, which has taken away most players from the former. But DeChambeau has a completely different outlook on it and shared his experience on the PGA Tour. Keep reading to know more.

Bryson DeChambeau gives a strong statement 

At the Pumpkin Ridge Press Conference on June 28, a reporter asked DeChambeau how he thinks PGA could have prevented the transition that happened recently. The reporter mentioned that a lot of players who previously intended to stay with the former tour have now shifted to LIV. He also asked the player what changed his mind personally.

DeChambeau replied that all conversations between the players and the PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan were private. He also mentioned that he did not get the proper place on the team, saying, “It’s not my place to make the decision. I’ve tried to be on the pack for a long time and was never put in place on that board, and it is what it is, and I respect that.”

It was surprising to hear this from the former champion, as he has made so many records under the PGA Tour and earned a lot of money. He also made tons of fans playing under PGA, but still didn’t find it enough. 

He further said, “I said about playing with the best players in the world… there are some of the best players in the world here right now, and I’m still looking forward to playing against them this week.” DeChambeau also said that the situation will change over time and it will not be the same forever. He didn’t talk about other players’ decisions to join LIV. But for him, it seemed like a mixed decision.
