While it’s unclear what the words are, one can imagine the general category that they might fall into. This becomes easy when looking at Koepka’s stone-cold face as tries to drain out the noise. The tweet passionately stands up for Koepka, criticizing the harshness of the European crowd.

The Twitter user wrote “Just a disgusting act from the typically despicable European fans.” Curiously, a verified Twitter handle by the name of Brysandel DeChamblee had commented “Pathetic” under the tweet. The internet never stops surprising us, does it?

That reminds us of how Brooks Koepka arguably fueled the fan rivalry surrounding him and fellow LIV golfer Bryson DeChambeau. In an incident dating back a few years, during a game, fans heckled DeChambeau badly. From what they yelled out, it could be assumed that they were supporting Koepka over DeChambeau.

How the word ‘disgusting’ has found its way back to Koepka

A few years back, before the previous Ryder Cup, the inception of this rivalry happened. While the two had already been competitors nevertheless, things changed after this one incident.

During a tournament in early 2021, a few fans yelled out ‘Brooksie’ when the Scientist was playing. This annoyed DeChambeau and eventually, the bunch was asked out. This would probably have died down at that point, but no. Koepka had other ideas.

He applauded the fans online and later arranged for them to receive beers from his sponsor. Encouraged by their idol, the fans escalated their behavior leading this to become a repetitive gag at golf tournaments. Bryson DeChembeau once spoke about this rivalry and called it “disgusting.”

The word “disgusting” has come a full circle now, with a Koepka fan using it for referring to the heckling that Koepka is facing. Looks like Koepka is getting a chance to realize how annoying fans can be when they go rogue!
