It was already surprising to see Bryson DeChambeau at No. 9 on the PGA Tour’s unofficial money list—even though he does not play on the American Tour. However, who would have thought that the golfer would be able to leave another impact on the PGA Tour all by himself? Especially on YouTube, where the PGA Tour has 1.47 million subscribers compared to his 1.42 million.

The PGA Tour’s Creator Classic brought together 16 content creators to compete on the iconic course of East Lake Golf Club, including big names like Paige Spiranac, Dude Perfect, and more. Even DeChambeau hinted at his interest in Creator Classic tagging PGA Tour on X as he wrote, I’m waiting for my invite to the Creator Classic @PGATOUR.” He did not get an invite though, but it sure would have been nice if he did. Despite his plea getting unheard, the event generated significant buzz all over the social media platforms. The official YouTube Channel of the Tour streamed the whole event, attracting a whopping 1.3 million views.

Around the same time, Bryson DeChambeau shared a regular video on his YouTube channel titled “Can I Break A Public Course Record In One Try?” And guess what? The video garnered even more views than the Creator Classic stream, which currently has 1.4 million. Surprisingly, the Creator Classic video was 3 hours and 30 minutes long, while the Scientist’s video was only 35 minutes, yet it still achieved this impressive result. Imagine the views the event would have garnered if DeChambeau had been a part of it, after all, he is the man of the people.

Besides the content creators, the PGA Tour’s video also showcased CBS’s Mark Immelman, renowned for his deep analytical insights and golf expertise, along with Barstool Sports’ Jake Marsh and Dan Rapaport, among others. On the other hand, the LIV golfer’s video featured only him attempting to break the public course record. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time DeChambeau has created the buzz.
