The course often tests players with both narrow losses and bad days. One needs a strong will and resolve to carry on and move forward. A player with such resolve is Bryson DeChambeau.

Bryson has a never-give-up spirit and doesn’t seem to know the meaning of the word “quit.” The reason: his father.
Bryson DeChambeau lives by his father’s teachings.
DeChambeau, in an interview, once called his father the “coolest dad” and explained that he never let Bryson quit. He said, “Growing up, He never ever allowed me to quit; that was the coolest thing that I am now realizing.”

The eight-time PGA Tour victor went on to add how much that had helped him. Bryson’s father never let him quit at “anything.” There were times when the going got tough, and DeChambeau wanted to quit too. At those times, his father would talk him out of it. “Whenever tough times came about and I wanted to quit, he would always sit down with me and say, ‘Bryson, you got to push through this; you can’t stop.’”

“You never want to stop, that will never get you anywhere in life,” were the words his father used that molded his life. The golf star has since made it his mission to live by those words. Bryson DeChambeau always saw things through and refused to give up. He said, “I always went to the farthest deepest lengths of anything.”

Bryson’s father’s impact on his golf career
As a child, Bryson played many sports: basketball, baseball, and volleyball. He eventually found his love for golf and turned professional in 2016. He has since won eight events on the PGA Tour, including one major. In 2020, Bryson DeChambeau won the US Open and stunned the entire crowd.

He won the major at the historic Winged Foot Club in New York and did so with a total score of 6-under par. Undoubtedly, his father deserves some credit for his relentlessness and resolve. His father always believed in him and brought him up with no room to quit. Bryson appreciated that and said, “It was pretty cool that he was able to do that for me at a young age.”
