Bubba Watson Makes a Bold Claim to ‘Outdrive’ Brooks Koepka

Bubba Watson is certainly one of the longest hitters in the world. Hence, he might have felt the need to funnily distinguish himself from another golfer who holds that title. And he did so by sending a message to Brooks Koepka in his recent Twitter post.

In the video he shared, he was quoted as saying, ” I am going to outdrive Brooks Koepka.”

Bubba Watson is seen trying the new Hzrdus Smoke shaft. Players like Bryson DeChambeau and Keegan Bradley are also using the Hzrdus shaft.

Brooks Koepka retweeted Bubba’s post, saying, “Prove it…”

Brooks Koepka and Bubba Watson are certainly having some fun on the social media platform. However, when the two hitters get going on the course, they mean business.

Bubba Watson and Brooks Koepka’s driving distance stats

Bubba Watson topped the PGA Tour average driving distance stat as a rookie in 2006 with an average driving distance of 319.6 yards. He then topped the driving distance average in 2007, 2008, 2012, and 2014. Whereas Brooks Koepka’s best driving distance rank was 6th in 2014.

Watson is a 12-time PGA Tour winner, including a two-time major champion. He won the Masters twice, first in 2012 and then in 2014. And won three times on tour in the 2017-18 season. He has earned over $47,966,028 on the PGA Tour and is ranked 14th on the career money list.

As for Brooks Koepka, he has won eight times on the PGA Tour, including having 4 major titles to his name. He won the US Open twice, in 2017 and 2018, positively defending his title. Brooks Koepka became the second player after Curtis Strange to have won the US Open twice in a row. The first player to do so was Ben Hogan, who won the US Open in a row in 1950 and 1951.

Koepka has earned over $37,919,900 on the PGA Tour and is ranked 26th on the career earnings list.
