Golf legend, Tiger Woods, is known for his unmatchable performances on the field. The 15x major winner has made more records than many other players combined. However, it is not just golf that he loves making his name for. The golfer once opened up a restaurant very close to his house in Jupiter, Florida. And the reason why he chose the location so close to his house is no less than a social cause.

Why did Tiger Woods open his restaurant in Jupiter, Florida?

Other than his golfing skills, Tiger Woods is highly known for his work toward helping society. And when he opened up his special restaurant so close to his house in Jupiter, people were amazed to ask him about his choice of the locality. “I wanted to build it locally where I live and where it could help support the community.” Woods said.

The restaurant offers a beautiful space for guests to dine in booths along with table seating. The place also has an indoor/outdoor lounge and a private dining area. When asked what he expected the people’s response about the restaurant to be, Woods wanted everyone to enjoy the meals and more. “I look forward to enjoying my restaurant as much as I hope everyone will,” he said. “I envision a place where people can meet friends, watch sports on TV and enjoy a great meal.”

Other than the location of his restaurant, fans were also keen to know why he wanted a restaurant of his own. Money has never been a problem for the golfer, at least after turning pro. Then why did he want to start his own business away from the field?

“I live just up the road, and my kids are just south. I have to drive 25 or 30 minutes south to get to a nice restaurant. Who wants to do that every day? That’s not a lot of fun. So I said, O.K., let’s put a restaurant here,” he said in an interview with Time. The golf star was adamant to bring up something that wasn’t already there in the area. But at the same time, he didn’t want his restaurant to be too fancy for people to “chill”.

“I hate going into a place where you have to wear a sports coat. I can’t stand it,” he said. With his wish to be able to wear flip-flops when coming to the restaurant, Woods said he wanted it to be a comfortable space. Well, we don’t know if one should call it something Woods did wholly for society. But it is definitely one of the most famous restaurants in the area!
