The biggest shock in recency for the PGA Tour was Jon Rahm joining LIV Golf. The contract of a whopping $500 million was the highest offered to any player. However, the former world no.1 since joining has been facing issues with only limited access to the events and a drop in the world rankings.

Along with it, rumors were spread about him being unhappy about his decision to switch. Earlier, Jamie Diaz shared, “I am 100 percent positive that if Jon could give the money back to the Saudis and come back to the tour, he couldn’t write the check fast enough. Now there are only four times a year when he’s playing that anybody is remotely interested. He thought his stature in the game was secure no matter where he was playing, and it was a bad miscalculation.”

Not only this, there have been many other instances that lead to verifying the rumors, but now with the latest update from his teammate and recently joined LIV golfer. The rumors have gotten a reality check. Tyrrell Hatton, a member of Legion XIII who joined in 2024, shed light on the rumors spread about Jon Rahm’s regret of joining LIV.

As shared by the Daily Mail UK, Tyrrell upon asking about his decision said, “Forgive me saying this but that is just media bull****,” sharing further he expressed how the thoughts never crossed his mind and Rahm having a great season away from the PGA Tour. For that, he said, “He’s really enjoyed it and he has certainly played some pretty good golf (Rahm won the LIV individual title in his debut season).”

Until the merger between the two leagues, LIV Golf and the PGA Tour, the rumors will be constant as LIV golfers will only feature in the Masters tournaments. But, it is not Tyrrell Hatton alone bursting the rumors, as in the past Jon Rahm also opened up about the rumors during an interview in 2024.

Jon Rahm on LIV Golf rumors

The brilliant career of the Spaniard has been the key for the rumors, as after switching things drastically changed for him, be it finishes or rankings. Even along with the golf world, his fellow golfers also stated his regret. But, during an interview with the New York Post, Rahm denied all. He said, “There’s zero validity to what any of that said. I don’t know where it came from.”

Talking further on the topic, he shared that this is the one thing that frustrates him with zero sources. With frustration, Rahm stated, “I don’t know why they feel the need to say that some of us are unhappy when we’re not. It’s one of the things that frustrates me a little bit, the fact that they can claim that there’s a source and there’s zero truth to it.”

Despite the exceptional talent in the field, the rank of the professional has been slipping since he joined LIV Golf. Currently, the former world no. 1 is ranked 25th. His limited presence at the PGA Tour’s major events disheartens even fans. With the merger being the only option left for the players, fans can only hope for a more united front in golf.
