Phil asks for a release to play on the rival tour

Reportedly, the PGA Tour veteran has asked for a release to play at the opening event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series. The kickoff event will take place at the Centurion Club, just outside London, in June. According to reports by the Telegraph, Mickelson has signed an agreement to play all eight events of the rival league. As a result, this is expected to cause a serious legal battle between Phil and the PGA Tour if they suspend professionals for playing in the rival league.
