During LIV’s Captains’ Selection Press Conference yesterday, a reporter asked Smith about his match with the major championship winner Mickelson. Smith agreed that it was a splendid match; however, the gamesmanship of Mickelson was off, according to him. He said, “Yeah, it was a good match. I think Phil maybe had some gamesmanship in there a little bit.” He found the match to be a painful experience because the pros were three or four holes behind, which was not expected. However, besides that, he considered the match to be good.

Who won the finale?
The off-performance of Mickelson was reflected in the final match as well. The British Open Champion Cameron Smith was able to eliminate Mickelson’s team from the tournament. He carded a 7-foot birdie putt on the last hole at Trump National Doral and said his goodbyes to the Hy Flyers GC team.
