Lefty is highly known for his kind-hearted gestures and charities. And although it wasn’t a very big amount, Mickelson once gave a tip to two kids selling lemonade near the PGA’s Memorial Tournament. The kids, Elise and Roland Van Karsen, knew exactly where to set up their little shop. And as they thought, Mickelson pulled over next to their stand and asked them for a glass of lemonade.

When asked how much the kids got as a tip from Mickelson, they said, “a 100 dollars”. Both the kids wanted to save it, but for different things. The girl said she wanted to save the 100 dollars for a kindle. While the boy wanted to save the money for a “nerf gun”!

Giving big tips is nothing new for Mickelson

Phil Mickelson has had a reputation for over-tipping. His fellow golfers believe that he gives pretty big tips on and off the field. But why does Mickelson do that? For the same reason, anybody would over-tip. He once said“What’s a few hundred dollars to me, when I know it’s going to make the other person’s day?” For the highest-paid golfer in the world, giving away a few hundred dollars as tip isn’t gonna make a difference to his bank balance. A little humility, though, goes a long way. And Mickelson, definitely makes it a point to give, whenever presented with a chance.
