John Daly is one of the few golfers who never fail to grab the media’s attention. He is mostly in news for a multitude of reasons, ranging from his personal to professional life. Daly has had his share of struggles, from binging alcohol to food to even gambling, the pro golfer has fought most battles one can think of. In recent times, his fight is on a bigger level. The pro golfer is actively battling bladder cancer and is proving to be an inspiration to everyone.

Daly, being Daly, has his fair share of rather interesting opinions about the cure for cancer. However, Long John’s health journey has had its share of bumps along the way. A few years back, John Daly suffered a scary lung injury and its consequences were harsh.

While playing a round at the Deerfield Golf Club in Canton, Mississippi, Daly‘s lungs collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed with a collapsed lung.

Life has not been all too easy for this America’s most favorite underdog. His journey to maintain his lifestyle in order to fight cancer has been filled with bumps, and this is definitely not the first time it has happened.

Long John’s history of being severely ill has sadly been a long one. When Daly suffered the collapsed lung, his manager Bud Martin issued a statement. He said, “Daly has fought a lingering rib injury since 2007, which recently has been causing severe pain and has affected his breathing.”

He continued, “He was struggling pretty badly right before he collapsed. But we’re all hoping it’s nothing serious and that he was just a little dehydrated. He was even telling [friend Billy Allen] he still wants to play [Sunday].”

Daly’s never gives up attitude is probably one o the reason that makes fans love him. People want to know about what’s happening with Daly. Honestly, can we blame them?

Daly talks about his battle with cancer

John Daly discussed his battle with cancer in an interview. He is battling Bladder cancer at the moment and will probably even have to deal with the same for at least five more years, according to him.

However, Daly is fighting strongly and is himself even under such physical and mental pressure. John boldly said, “F*ck Cancer!”

The statement was quite expected and was an old-fashioned Daly move. He also went on to explain how he believes cancer is, in fact, curable. According to him, it is the US Government and a conscious decision on the part of the doctors that is keeping Americans at bay from accessing the cure.

He also mentioned how people from other countries do have a cure and are actively using it, but Americans are mostly kept from accessing it. Long John also made strong claims about the American healthcare system.
