Jack Nicklaus has won 18 major titles as a PGA Tour professional. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has won 15. The fans of both the golfers have been debating, for a long time, whether the younger golfer can beat the veteran’s record ever.
“I just can’t see it,” the famous American Columnist Skip Bayless stated. “I am sorry to all the Tiger faithful out there,” he added. Bayless is infamous for constantly criticizing the NBA star LeBron James.

Notably, the columnist has been wrong more than once while criticizing the NBA star. Yet, he points out James’ shortcomings making him the official hater of the Los Angeles Lakers‘ small forward.
Bayless further explained why he thinks Woods’ has no choice in winning a major, “Six years…six years, I see no signs of the Tiger who used to own those majors.” Notably, Bayless revealed his prediction back in 2014 of whether Woods could beat Nicklaus’ record ever.
In 2014, it had been 6 years since Woods won a major tournament. His last and 14th major victory was at the 2008 U. S. Open. “He’s just another one of a whole lot of pretty good golfers now,” Bayless stated.

“When he (Woods) gets to a major, he shrinks under pressure,” he added. According to Bayless, Woods wouldn’t even come closer to Nicklaus’ major wins.
How did Tiger Woods exceed the predictions of Skip Bayless?
According to Bayless, the pressure lets Woods make mistakes in the majors. He even predicted that it would be hard for him to win another major after so many years.
However, Woods beat all the odds in 2019 when he won the Masters Tournament at the Augusta National. He scored an impressive 13 under par to attain a one-shot lead over the rest of the field. Notably, he won a major event 11 years after the 2008 U. S. Open.

The Club’s chairman of the time, Fred Ridley, called the event “one of the most amazing days” of its history. Even the golfer named his 2019 Masters victory his “biggest win.”
Woods won his 15th and last major at the 2019 Masters. He has three more to level up with Jack Nicklaus. It seems that the 46-year-old cannot beat the veteran’s record.

However, notably, Woods is still playing in the major events and has already proven he can win them against all the odds. Therefore, as the 15-time major winner keeps playing, there is no way to tell whether it is achievable or not.
